This section is a tribute to my colleagues who are leaving this week.
Denis
One of the first few RSMs of NOC i had to undergo training with. His loud commanding and confident is the character I would always remember. I still remembered during training for almost a month with him, i was afraid of working with him. This is so cause he always show the expression You know how to handle this issue already, don't tell me you forgotten !. But because of his strict training I learnt the stuffs very fast and when was started to do night shifts alone , felt more comfortable.
Congratulations on your promotion from specialist to engineer.
Daniel
Team leader for the NUS cluster. Didn't work with him as we support different projects. But after getting to know him longer, he is a very funny person and is knowledge to the project is valuable. It was a great loss for them as Daniel was a great leader.
Take care and good luck in your future endeavors. Keep in contact and next time go eat Lobsters please jio me LOL! Also congratulations to John for being the new Team Leader.

One of the first guy I met in SOC. Met him through Talense movie premiere of "Casino Royale". Later found out he was also Royston's friend. A soft spoken gentleman that have the looks to kill. Take care and good luck to your future and get married real soon.

27th April 2007 NCS Annual Dinner & Dance
Bo Tao and I reached Suntec around 8pm. We missed the chance to participate in the lukcy draw. NCS booked the exhibition hall on the 6th floor. There were 168 tables so roughly there were 1600++ guests present. Got to dine Muslim style with Siraj. This is the first time eating Muslim food in a dinner.
The host was Justin Misson, chinese and bald. A little look like the HK actor in the Stephen Chow Movie where its depicts the AXE gang. The host was really entertaining and able to move the crowd with his jokes and antics. An opening address by NCS CEO followed by some dances, the food, presentation of long service awards. OMG there was an employee that was with NCS for 40yrs man!!! I think such employee extinct already.
After award presentation, some games organized by the host interacting with the crowd, magic show by magician JC Sum, and finally everyone waited for,

Yes prizes and money. The prizes are really damn attractive.

They gave away 3 notebooks, few shopping vouchers and yes a PS3. Those are the top 22 prizes. From 23-100th prize consists of vacuum cleaner, ipod, shopping vouchers...
Feel damn sian if register still got chance. But at the end our colleagues din get any prizes damn sad.
After D&D when to ST James with, Willy, Denis, Weng Fai, Daniel, David, John, Bo Tao, Martin and me. Been years since i last chiong, not really my type of activity. The last time chiong was with HRG few years back during poly. That time damn sian 1 night police came raid twice.
Yet to go Zouk or MOS so I cannot compare them with ST James. Reached there around 1am, very crowded. There were a few clubs located together. We first went Power House, paid $20 for 2 free house pours, not bad. Atmosphere not bad, got 3 dancers dancing on the top and another 3 dancing near the stage. The music is good and the dancers really make the crowd high. Noticed 1 girl wah bigger size and more muscular than me wearing just a du dou(bra worn during Chinese dynasty) dancing vigorously beside me. Don't know why alot of people siam her despite the dance floor was so packed.
Danced awhile abit sian so we decided to explore other clubs. Managed to went 1 club facing the main entrance dunno what the name. There saw the same dancers again, but here the lighting is less dim than Power House so can get to see the girls. Wah here got more chiobus sial. Too bad Daniel had to leave, and i left also because my bag was in his car.

April Updates
First time driving
Kai came to fetch me after work last Friday. He got the car from Zi QIang as he was going to club. We went to Botak Jones at Ang Mo Kio.
When we reached there around 9pm it was already crowded. Kai ordered Cajun Chicken and i ordered FIsh & CHips. SIan this afternoon had western for lunch also. Despite the long queue I was informed by order would be ready in 20-30mins thats fast compared to eating Blackboard at Bedok where we waited 1h for SHIT SERVICE!
The service at blackboard was rude and slow especially that got 1 staff serving the food. The Cajun Chicken was very small compared to Botak Jones. We will never go there again.
Botak Jones however hired many staffs to deliver the food promptly and their service was much better. Their serving was large for small eater. Big pieces of meat companies by lots of fries. I don't like to eat fries so abit wasted.

Saturday went to watch movie "Shooter" at Cathy, as Zi QIang got 2 free tickets. Met Kai at Kallang Mrt before ZI Qiang came to pick us. We headed for Paragon first as he had to pay his HP bills. Later we had dinner at ThaiExpress, die broke liaoz.
Zi QIang ordered Pineapple rice , Chendol and Pad Thai( Thailand Char Kway Teow, tastes spicky with seafood and peanuts).While Kai ordered some Chilli Fish and I ordered Curry Softshell crab rice.Also don't know what to order as their menu did not indicate Chef's speciality. Our order came and I did not see the pineapple skin as indicated on the menu LOL. They tried my curry and commented it was good. It tastes like satay sauce thick but not peanut taste. Think it was a fusion dish of Japanese and Thai.
After dinner we went Cathy to purchase the tix. Wanted to watch Bean or TMNT but kai say it wasn't nice. Most of the shops in Cathy are still not opened. We were very lucky to get to watch the movie in room 1. The decor is very grand like a music house gold and red trimming. Been ages since i lasted watched a show. Fantastic 4 during one of the nights out. Cannot forgot my goddess Jessica Alba.
Overall Shooter was a nice shooter, but the ending was a damn spolier.

After the movie went 85 to eat and go back home as next day got play soccer with Jeremy.
Sunday morning packed my stuffs and met Jeremy who was my primary school friend. Last time secondary school used to go his grandma house to play game. After poly and army no time to contact. We chat on msn occasionally. I used to play with his friends when was in Poly LOL close to 5yrs back.
Reached his school and was surprised to see so many of their classmates playing around 10++. I was wondering how despite each other life they could, still find time to play soccer on a Sunday morning while others are still napping. Till now i don't have much contacts with my secondary school mates damn sad. I got so few friends
Been like few months since i kicked a ball. After work shifts most Sundays burnt. Damn fatigue cannot even last more than 30mins already wanna die. Didn't run much at the street soccer court but scored a goal and many shots at target LOL. The sun is killing me man so damn hot.
Soon later Andy came. Anday was also my primary school friend and neighour living on the same level with me. Last contact was like 10yrs back man. Think after primary school no contact already. Few years back me shifted and lived at Circuit Road. Was glad to see him not much changes except for his height almost reaching 1.9m while my height still remains at primary school. SAD. He signed as airforce technician so I guess life for him might be not bad. Hope i got more Sunday off so can play soccer and meet up with very old friends.

Today went with my Mum to Bright Hill to pray my father. Felt very guilty as i guess for 2yrs didn't pray him as i was in army. Its my duty as eldest child and son to continue practicing the tradition. The chinese is very particular about filial piety.
Treat a person well while alive.
Do not treat a person well while they are gone.
Whats the point of burning so much paper money, big cars .. for the dead, while when they are alive you can treat them better to make their life more meaningful. No doubt i admit the society is more cunning and cruel, seeing reports of people abandoning their parents in old folks home or treat them very unfairly. To me friends and spouse can be relaced but our own parents can never be replaced in our hearts.
It was a very hard time for me to accept the fact that my father left me when I was young. My mum struggled so hard to support this family. From my secondary, poly till army times. Now finally as an adult and now working, its my duty to give my mum the best in everything. I may not be earning big bucks, but i would not hesistate to splurge on my mum and sister for things they want. So now whenever i am free i would cherish the moments spent with them. Now i just hope that
1) My mum health improves and get better
2) My sister able to see
3) I can find a well paid job and eventually find success
4) Find a girl of my dreams
5) Good luck and good fortune befalls on my mum's sisters and brothers, others who supported us all this while. Their sincere kindness i can never repay back.
6) Maintain good frienship and also to find old and new friends i strongly believ this phase (At home you depend on your parents, outside you depend on your friends).
7) Curse and swear to those relatives who left us to dire situation yes i don't believe the shit (Blood is thicker than water, its tested and proven to be not working in this cunning and cruel society. YEAH FUCK YOU, YOU KNOW WHO ARE YOU!!!
Whenever i go out with my mum i would try to flag a taxi as she is too weak to walk and it reaches our destination fast. I also told her to just take taxi if she rushing for time or too tired to walk. After praying went to Junction 8 wah changed alot. Now cannot find kids playing Magic cards at the MRT station. They added another block where there are many eateries. As my mum like pork i recommended her to eat at Cafe Cartel. She ordered their speciality ST Louis pork ribs. The ribs were huge. After the meal she commented the food was nice. After that took train to Toa Payoh to fetch my sister from work. When she arrived at the interchange, I left for Cathy to meet Xiang Xin and Jimmy for movie.
Reached Doby Ghaut MRT wah sian raining but not very heavy. Ran towards Cathy. Looked at the ticketing office and no idea what show to watch. went the basement to wait for them while surfing their WiFi connection. Soon later Xiang Xin arrived as he took a taxi. While waoitng for Jimmy, Xiang XIn went to eat Ya Kun kaya toast and Shilin snacks, LOL so hungry. The Shilin snacks is no fight compared with Taiwan. The chicken meat in Taiwan is fantastic.
Jimmy called to tell us he was stuck as it was raining very heavily. We told him either go Plaza Singapura Hang Ten to rent an umbrella or take taxi. Soon later he came at 1910 where our show starts at 1905.
Watched Bean really as the rest say not very nice lor not funny. I think he cam-whore like to shoot video of himself.

After the show went Plaza Sing as Jimmy wanted to get a leather belt. Eventually he bought a belt and shirt at Espirit. We later went the nearby coffeeshops at Paradiz for dinner. Ordered half chicken mixed roast and white and ordered a side dish. The side dish was fish mixed with you char kway which Jimmy ever tried before.

After that went to buy Rochor Soya bean milk and headed back home.

Month of March
26 March 1100 is my driving test.
Practically been going for circuits to familarise.
1 trip to circuit costs $51 inclusive of lessons.
Got problem with slope and crank course. Slope always roll back and crank course always mount kerb. WHO the hell implemented crank course !!! Singapore got such narrow roads meh?
Finally managed to pass my driving. SIbei suay tio Ah kai say the killer tester. So many testers will tio him, same as during my military driving theortical test. Got 16 pts. Don't know what i was doing during tests on the main road overtake 1 parker trailer so close 8pts. Dare not to up gear 4 and when reach junctions can continue with gear 2 but drop gear 1 and move off again.
Tester comments: You drove so near the parker trailer, and why always need to drop gear can move off at 2 unless your car stopped completely.
After he pass me damn happy, go watch the safety video got 1 staff pass us a hyundai brochure with a $500 voucher, so clever to do business.
Sibei dulanz waited 2hs for the counter to give me my temp license. Went back to sleep as that night on shift. Finally can official drive car.
Since young had been fascinated by cars, alot of my friends got their license much earlier.
Less than 2wks, they sent my driving license via registered post, very efficient.
Total amount spent on lessons $700. I felt i went too much lessons before circuit.
